On November 18, 2020, the closing ceremony for the project “Clean drinking water system for Hanoi City” was solemnly held at Melia Hanoi Hotel. The program is sponsored by Coca-Cola Vietnam and DuPont Vietnam with the desire to bring the values of health and a green, clean, and modern environment to the people of the capital. Attending the program were representatives from Hoan Kiem District, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education, the Ministry of Education, the Board of Directors of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National Economics University, University of Education at VNU, High School Central College of Education, Coca-Cola, Dupont, and the Center for Consultancy on Family Health and Community Development (CFC).
The project “Clean drinking water system for Hanoi City” has been implemented since the end of 2019, with five drinking water filtration systems installed at central locations within Hoan Kiem district, including Hang Trong Flower Garden, Garden Toad Flower, Book Street, Opera House Flower Garden, and Hanoi Cathedral. In 2020, despite many hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the project has continued, and we have completed the installation of five filtration systems at five universities, including Bach Khoa University, National Economics University, VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU University of Education, and Central College of Pedagogy. The drinking water filtration systems have a capacity of 80 liters/hour, ordered specifically for Hanoi. The quality of the water is guaranteed to meet the drinking water quality standards of QCVN 6 -1:2010/BYT prescribed by the Ministry of Health.
In the closing ceremony, the project handed over five filtration systems to the five universities that will put them into use and maintain them. With five water purifier systems in Hoan Kiem District, the project will continue to support operation and maintenance until the first quarter of 2021, when it will be handed over to the District for management.
The project has improved access to clean drinking water for the Hanoi community and has contributed to enhancing the image of a civilized, modern, and clean Capital in the eyes of international friends.
