An Experiential Program for Children with Disabilities at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts to Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival!

On September 26, 2024, CFC Vietnam, in partnership with OCD Consulting, OMT, and OES, organized an engaging and enriching experience for 40 students from Nhan Chinh School for the Deaf at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts.

This program was a meaningful educational activity that not only offered the children insights into art and culture but also provided opportunities for creative participation, play, and interaction.

At the museum, the children were guided through a collection of rare and unique ancient artifacts. Artworks from various periods, including paintings, sculptures, and traditional objects, opened up a colorful and historical world for the children. Through accessible and relatable explanations, they gained a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and art despite language barriers.

Alongside the guided tour, the children participated in exciting games related to the museum’s artifacts. They had joyful moments exploring, learning, and answering questions about the museum’s exhibits.

One of the highlights of the program was the hands-on experience of creating Dong Ho paintings on traditional dó paper, a Vietnamese folk art technique. Under the attentive guidance of museum instructors, the students crafted their own unique Dong Ho prints. This activity brought joy and allowed the children to appreciate the value of traditional crafts.

By the end of the program, joy was evident on each student’s face. They were enthusiastic about learning more about Vietnamese art and culture. For the teachers at Nhan Chinh School, this was a highly meaningful educational activity, allowing the students not only to access art but also to develop social and interaction skills in a diverse environment.
