With the goal of fostering a love for science and technology among students, Tien Phong Newspaper for Children and Adolescents, Panasonic Vietnam, and CFC Vietnam’s Family Health & Community Development Center jointly launched the “Let’s Create STEM Together” contest on April 17th. The event also introduced an AR/VR digital library to enrich students’ STEM learning experiences.
The “Let’s Create STEM Together” contest, running from April 12th to June 2nd, is designed to offer a platform for elementary and middle school students across the country to showcase their creativity in science and technology.
The program was initiated with the desire to support students and schools in accessing practical STEM experience opportunities based on the orientation set forth by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Along with STEM experiential classes, the organizers have launched an AR/VR digital library in STEM experiences to increase access opportunities and experience STEM freely and conveniently for all students, teachers, schools and parents across the country.
According to Mr. Oka Hiroyuki – Director of Panasonic Vietnam, by participating in the contest, students are not only encouraged to apply STEM knowledge but also to environmental protection topics such as energy saving and reusing everyday materials.
“STEM will support future citizens with approaches and tools to solve global problems towards sustainable development,” said Mr. Oka Hiroyuki.
Through this, the competition is also an opportunity for young scientists to hone and practice soft skills such as project implementation, teamwork, etc., while connecting with young people of the same age who share the same passion.
Within the framework of the program, Panasonic presented 1,300 UV germicidal lamps to representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training to equip schools in the two provinces of Binh Duong and Tra Vinh.
In addition, the program also attracted the active participation of many schools and STEM-loving communities in Hanoi, rich in experience and creativity, stirring up the passion for science and technology subjects.
“Panasonic for Sustainable Schools” is a corporate social responsibility initiative of Panasonic Corporation in Vietnam, launched in April 2022, following the success of Panasonic Risupia Vietnam Center – a science and technology museum open free of charge to students and schools from 2010 to 2021.
The program provides opportunities for students to learn and practice STEM through lectures and practical toolkits, helping to raise awareness and provide solutions to real social and local problems, raise awareness of environmental protection and awareness of global issues related to sustainable development.
After more than two years of implementation, the program “Panasonic for sustainable schools” has received active participation and companionship from more than 45 thousand students and nearly 100 schools and educational communities across the country.
